We ate at the Night Market, of which I had been predisposed to via Andrew Zimmerman and Bizarre Foods. The actual smells are hard to reframe from vomitting. The most horrific smell came from stinky tofu, which is fermented tofu. The particular one we ate was fried and tossed with soy sauce. I only ate one piece. The smell was actually not that bad up close but it was the texture that made it difficult to swallow. It was something that I had never had - the average meat and potato eater. But I gave it a try, kudos to me! I was able to eat something that Andrew himself could not.

Day One
Our accomadations in Taiwan are at a teacher's hostel. The sink, toilet and shower are in a 5'x5' with no separation, thus you potentially wet the entire bathroom while washing. It feels as if you are taking a wash up out of the sink because you can shut off the flow from the handheld shower head. The other amazing thing that I have noticed is that the power to the room is cut off when you remove this card out of the door. The focus here is conservation.
We did not have internet our first couple of days - to explain the large amount of blogs in short period of time.

On the other side of the world
We are on the other side of the world. We arrived in Taiwan at our accomadations after 30 hours of travel. The longest leg of the flight was from Chicago to Japan lasted 13 hours. The food and entertainment was pretty good but the seats were smaller than the cheap flight from Detroit to Chicago. Thus, I was uncomfortable the entire flight.
